CHUCK TALBOT MEMORIAL PRIZE
The Department of Criminology has established the Chuck Talbot Memorial Prize in memory of one of its long-standing colleagues, Professor Charles K. Talbot, who died in August 1992. Professor Talbot was a member of the Department of Criminology since the creation of the Department, beginning his career with the University of Ottawa in 1969. Influential in his field of research, Professor Talbot was an enthusiastic educator. In addition to his responsibilities as professor, he helped establish the Department's Field Placement Program and was its coordinator until the mid 1980s. Colleagues and students alike miss him very much.
PURPOSE OF FUND
The Chuck Talbot Memorial Prize is to be awarded to undergraduate students registered in the Field Placement Program of the Department of Criminology, Faculty of Social Sciences, at the University of Ottawa. The prize will recognize their excellent performance during the placement and provide encouragement for future studies in criminology and career advancement.
Eligibility Criteria :
The applicant must:
1. be registered as a full-time student in the Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Criminology or the Joint Honours in Criminology and Women’s Studies; and
2. be registered for the undergraduate Field Placement Program and have completed the Field placement (CRM 4260/FEM 4260) and the Field Placement Seminar (CRM 4317) successfully.

Number of awards: Variable, (minimum of one prize for the French program and one prize for the English program).
